Legal Information

Last updated: 3 November 2026

This Legal Information page applies to guiderepo and to the information, content, training services and related materials made available through this website. It explains who operates the site, how the business behind it is registered and identified, what visitors may and may not do here, how liability is limited, and how complaints and disputes are handled. Please read it before booking a course, submitting an enquiry through our contact form, or relying on anything published on the site. It should be read together with the other policy documents named in section 10.

1. Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role

The website is owned and operated by guiderepo, a commercial provider of specialised training courses focused on live production decks and control rooms. Our teaching covers multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, broadcast studio workflow, camera control systems, professional lighting and sound engineering practice, and the day-to-day management of television and streaming productions.

In legal terms, guiderepo acts as the publisher of this website, as the provider of the educational services described on it, and as the data controller for personal data collected through it. When this page refers to "we", "us" or "our", it means the operator identified in this section. When it refers to "you", it means any visitor to the website, whether you are browsing anonymously, submitting an enquiry, or enrolling on a course.

The operator is responsible for the accuracy of the commercial information published here, for the delivery of any course you book, and for the handling of your personal data in the ways described in the Privacy Policy. Content hosted on third-party platforms that we do not control is not covered by this page.

2. Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers, Licences and Responsible Representatives

guiderepo is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. A private limited company is a body corporate with its own legal personality, which means that the company — and not its directors personally — enters into contracts for the sale of training services, holds the relevant assets, and is liable for the obligations described on this page.

The following non-contact legal identifiers apply to the operator and are published here for transparency and accountability in all commercial dealings:

  • Company Registration Number: 02867466
  • VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923
  • Legal form: private limited company
  • Place of incorporation: England and Wales
  • Register of companies: Companies House, United Kingdom

The company maintains its statutory registrations with Companies House and its tax registrations with HM Revenue & Customs. No additional operating licence beyond the standard requirements applicable to commercial education and e-commerce services in the United Kingdom is mandated for this type of business. Where a specific course involves the use of broadcast equipment or studio facilities, any additional safety or site rules are communicated to participants before the session begins and form part of the booking terms.

The responsible representatives of the operator are its directors. Their particulars are filed with Companies House and are available for public inspection there. Directors are responsible for the lawful conduct of the business, for the accuracy of the information published on this website, and for ensuring that consumer protection obligations are met. Nothing on this website should be read as an invitation to treat made by any individual director in a personal capacity.

3. Registered Office and Available Contact Details

The registered office of the operator, being the address at which statutory correspondence and service of legal documents may be delivered, is:

Registered office: 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK

The registered office is a formal legal address and is not necessarily a location at which training takes place or at which visitors are received. Please do not attend any address published on this page unless you have received a written confirmation of a booking or appointment that specifies that location.

For day-to-day enquiries, the following contact routes are available. These are the only contact channels we publish for this website, and communications should be directed through them:

  • Email: info@dramabydesign.com
  • Telephone: +44 (0)1344 649400
  • Postal correspondence: 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK

Our customer service team is available Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00, and Saturday, 10:00 to 14:00, excluding public holidays in the United Kingdom. The website also provides a Contacts page with an enquiry form, which is the most reliable route for written questions about course content, availability or scheduling. When you contact us, please include enough detail for us to identify the course, booking or issue you are writing about. We aim to acknowledge written enquiries within two working days, though response times during peak booking periods may be longer.

Please note that we do not accept service of legal proceedings, formal notices or statutory documents by email unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Such documents should be sent to the registered office shown above.

4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website

This website exists to inform prospective and existing clients about our training courses and to allow them to enrol in those courses. It is an informative resource dedicated to audiovisual production excellence, covering broadcast studio design principles, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and streamlined workflows for television networks and live events. The site also functions as a commercial platform: it is where courses and related services are described, priced and offered for sale.

The scope of the website includes descriptive and educational material about production practice, course outlines, schedules, prerequisites, pricing information, booking terms, and administrative notices. It does not provide personalised engineering, safety or legal advice, and no reliance should be placed on general explanatory content as a substitute for professional advice tailored to a specific venue, production or jurisdiction.

The intended audience includes media professionals, broadcasters, production technicians, control room operators, corporate communications teams, students of film and television studies, and organisations that produce live events or streamed content. Content is primarily written for users in the United Kingdom and is offered in English. Where we accept enquiries or bookings from outside the United Kingdom, the contractual terms and the governing law set out in section 11 continue to apply unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

The website is aimed at adults and at organisations. It is not a service directed at children, and course bookings should not be made by anyone under the age of 18 without the consent and involvement of a parent, guardian or responsible organisation.

5. Access to the Website and Acceptable Use

Access to the public areas of this website is free of charge and does not require registration. Access to booked course content, where any is delivered online, is restricted to enrolled participants and is protected by credentials issued to them. You are responsible for keeping any credentials confidential and for all activity carried out using them.

You may view, browse, print and download material from this website for your own personal and internal business reference, provided you do not remove any proprietary notices and do not use the material for commercial republication or for training delivery to third parties without our written permission.

You must not:

  • use the website in any way that breaches applicable law, including laws relating to data protection, computer misuse, copyright, trade marks or communications;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, to course materials, to user accounts, or to the systems and networks on which the site relies;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the website, or circumvent or interfere with security or access control features;
  • introduce viruses, malware, ransomware, worms, spyware or any other harmful code or material;
  • scrape, harvest, crawl or otherwise systematically extract content from the website, or use automated tools to submit repeated enquiries or booking requests;
  • use the contact form or any published contact route to send unsolicited advertising, chain messages, or material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory or misleading;
  • impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation, or submit false booking information;
  • copy, record, redistribute or resell course materials, recordings, slides or reference documents, whether in whole or in part.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to the website or to a course booking if we reasonably believe that you have breached these rules, or if we are required to do so by law. Where access to a paid course is terminated for a serious breach, cancellation rights under our Payment and Refund Policy apply as set out there and under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

6. Ownership of Content, Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, course descriptions, syllabuses, diagrams, photographs, video and audio material, layouts, source code and the selection and arrangement of the content — is owned by or licensed to the operator and is protected by copyright, database rights and related intellectual property laws in the United Kingdom and internationally.

The name guiderepo, together with any logos, course names, marks and visual identity used on this site, are trade marks or trade dress of the operator. Nothing on this website grants you any licence or right to use those marks, and you must not reproduce, adapt or display them without our prior written consent.

You may quote short extracts of the publically accessible text for the purpose of review, commentary, teaching or news reporting, provided the use is fair, the source is clearly acknowledged as guiderepo, and the quotation does not misrepresent our position. Systematic copying, republishing of substantial parts of the site, or reuse of course materials in competing training offerings is not permitted.

If you believe that material on this website infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us using the contact route in section 12 and provide: a description of the protected work, the address of the page or material concerned, an explanation of why you consider the use unlawful, your contact details, and a statement confirming that the information you provide is accurate. We will review the notice promptly and will remove or amend material where a valid claim is established.

Course materials issued to participants are licensed, not sold, to them for their own learning and internal reference. Enrolment does not transfer any ownership of the underlying course content.

7. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure that the information published on this website — including course descriptions, schedules, prerequisites and prices — is accurate, complete and kept up to date. Even so, the information is provided for general guidance and may occasionally be affected by human error, technical changes, or updates to course content. Prices and schedules may change before a booking is confirmed, and we will always inform you of the applicable price and terms at the point of booking.

We aim to keep the website available at all reasonable times, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or failures of the hosting, network or infrastructure services on which it depends. We may also modify, suspend or discontinue any feature or area of the website without notice, provided that doing so does not affect bookings already confirmed.

Nothing in this page excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (services performed with reasonable care and skill), or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to the paragraph above, and to the extent permitted by law:

  • the website is made available on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we do not warrant that the site will meet your specific expectations or be free of defects in every respect;
  • we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, this website or its general informational content;
  • where we are liable for damage to tangible property or for other direct loss arising out of the website, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the course booking to which the claim relates, or to one hundred pounds sterling, whichever is greater;
  • we are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party information that appears on linked websites, as explained in section 8.

Course delivery, cancellations, substitutions, transfers and refunds are governed by the Payment and Refund Policy and by the Terms and Conditions, which take precedence over the general summary given on this page in the event of any inconsistency.

8. External Links and Third-Party Content

This website may reference or link to external websites, platforms, applications, embedded media or resources operated by third parties — for example, equipment manufacturers, professional bodies, or partners who host course documentation. Those services are provided for convenience and background information only.

We do not control external websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, security practices, privacy policies or terms of use. A link or reference does not imply that we endorse the third party, nor that the third party endorses us. When you follow a link away from this website, you leave our site and become subject to the terms and policies of the destination. We recommend that you review those documents before using the third-party service or providing any personal data to it.

Where third-party content is embedded on our pages, that provider may itself process technical data such as your IP address or device information under its own terms. Please see the Cookie Policy for the technologies used on this site and the choices available to you.

9. How the Website Is Funded and What That Means for You

The website is funded through the sale of training courses and related services. We do not present paid editorial placements as independent advice, and any material that is sponsored, commissioned or provided by a commercial partner will be identified as such where it appears.

Where a course relies on equipment supplied by a manufacturer or distributor, that commercial relationship does not change the educational objectives of the course. Teaching focuses on transferable professional practice, and any specific product coverage is presented as an example of a workflow rather than as a recommendation that substitutes for your own evaluation. You should always verify technical specifications, compatibility and safety requirements against the manufacturer's own documentation before deploying equipment in a live production environment.

10. Cross-References to Other Legal and Policy Documents

This Legal Information page forms part of a wider set of policies that together govern your use of this website and our services. Those documents are published on the website and should be read alongside this page. In the event of a conflict, the order of precedence is as follows: the Terms and Conditions and any booking-specific terms first, then the Payment and Refund Policy, then the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy in relation to their respective subject matter, and finally this Legal Information page.

Privacy Policy. Explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights available to you under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Cookie Policy. Explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this site, their purposes, and how you can accept, refuse or withdraw consent through the cookie banner, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).

Terms and Conditions. Sets out the contractual terms that apply to your use of the website, to course bookings and to the delivery of training services.

Payment and Refund Policy. Explains pricing, how payment is taken, when a booking is confirmed, cancellation and transfer rights, cooling-off periods, and how refunds are processed.

Where an enquiry is submitted through the contact form, the way we handle the information you provide is described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights

This website, this Legal Information page, and all services offered through the site are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to the consumer rights described below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with the website or the services offered on it.

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, nothing in this page, the Terms and Conditions or any other policy affects the statutory rights available to you. These include the rights in the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which require services to be performed with reasonable care and skill, provided within a reasonable time where no date is agreed, and provided for a reasonable price where none is agreed. Where a service does not meet those standards, you are entitled to ask for the service to be repeated or for a price reduction.

Where you have booked a course as a consumer at a distance, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you a right to cancel within 14 days of the conclusion of the contract, subject to the exceptions that apply once training has begun with your express consent. How to exercise that right is set out in the Payment and Refund Policy.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us first using the details in section 12 so that we have an opportunity to put things right. We will acknowledge your complaint and investigate it promptly. If we cannot resolve the matter, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider accredited in the United Kingdom, although this is a voluntary process and using it does not prevent you from taking a claim to court. Disputes relating to the handling of your personal data may also be raised with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), which supervises data protection law in the United Kingdom.

12. Data Protection, Cookies and Security in Brief

Personal data submitted through this website, whether through the contact form, an enrolment request or correspondence, is processed lawfully, fairly and transparently in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Data is collected only for specified purposes: administering your enquiry or booking, delivering and improving the courses, keeping accounting and tax records, and sending marketing communications where you have given consent.

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with service providers who support the website and the business — for example hosting, email, payment and course delivery providers — and only to the extent needed to perform their role for us, or where disclosure is required by law or by a competent authority. We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for those purposes and for any statutory retention period.

Cookies and similar technologies are used on this site for essential functionality, for remembering your preferences, and, where you consent, for measuring how the site is used. The site displays a cookie banner where you can accept, refuse or adjust non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices at any time as described in the Cookie Policy. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent you from browsing the site or booking a course.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through the contact form; ask us for a suitable alternative route if you need to provide such information.

13. Contact Route, Changes to This Page and Last-Updated Statement

Questions, complaints and requests relating to this Legal Information page should be directed to us using the contact route published on the Contacts page of this website or using the details given in section 3. When you write to us, please include your name, your preferred contact method, and a clear description of your question or concern so that we can respond accurately and quickly.

We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in the law, in our business practices or in the services we offer. The version currently published on this page is the version in force. Where a change is significant — for example, a change to the legal identifiers, to the applicable law, or to the limitations of liability — we will highlight it on this page and, where appropriate, notify customers with an active booking. Continued use of the website after an update takes effect means that you accept the revised version.

Statutory and non-contact legal identifiers relating to the operator are set out in section 2 and remain unchanged until this page is next updated. If you notice information on this page that appears out of date or incorrect, please tell us so that we can correct it.
